Larry Edward Penley
Gov. Doug Ducey appointed Larry Edward Penley, Ph.D., to the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê Board of Regents in October of 2015. Regent Penley is a member of the Strategic Initiatives and Planning Committee.
Regent Penley is the president of Penley Consulting, past president of the Thunderbird School of Global Management, former president of Colorado State University and past chancellor of the Colorado State University system. A former dean of the W. P. Carey School of Business at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê State University, he was a professor of management and Robert Herberger мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê Heritage Chaired Professor. Regent Penley has held academic positions in Venezuela and Mexico, developed educational programs in partnership with institutions in China and Mexico and is professor emeritus at ASU.
Regent Penley serves on the boards of the US Lead Network, Catholic Community Foundation, Board Developer and the Switzerland-based Glion Institute of Higher Education. He is senior fellow at the Center for the Future of мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê and has served on the Phoenix Roman Catholic Diocese Finance Committee and the boards of East Valley Catholic Social Services, Dignity Health Foundation – East Valley, INROADS мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. His honors include the Frank C. Carr award from INROADS мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê and the distinguished service award from the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. He received his doctorate in management at the University of Georgia and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wake Forest University. He and his wife, Yolanda, have two adult children.
