¼ϲ names Chad Sampson new executive director

The ¼ϲ Board of Regents announced today the appointment of Chad Sampson as executive director of the board. Sampson previously served as interim executive director of the board since March. 

“For more than a decade, Mr. Sampson has been a trusted leader for the board, providing legal counsel and oversight in academic affairs, institutional analysis and more,” said ¼ϲ Chair Cecilia Mata. “Since stepping into an interim role, he has engaged with skillful leadership focused on strategic governance, accountability and transparency. His extensive experience in higher education, combined with his deep commitment to serving ¼ϲ’s students and families, will be invaluable as we move forward.”

Sampson joined the board in 2010 as associate general counsel and transitioned to vice president of strategic planning before serving most recently as vice president of academic affairs and institutional analysis. He is active in the education community, currently serving on the WestEd Board of Directors and has previously served on the board at Tempe Preparatory Academy, ¼ϲ Center for After School Excellence and the ¼ϲ State Board of Education’s Professional Practices Advisory Committee. He has also worked as an adjunct professor at Mesa Community College. 

Sampson began serving as interim executive director of the board following former ¼ϲ Executive Director John Arnold’s appointment to interim senior vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer at the University of ¼ϲ.
